Documents: Proof of citizenship. The marriage licence must be signed by the Justice of
the Peace and picked up on one to two days after it has been approved.
Bermuda
Cost: $200 plus $20 for the certificate
Documents: File a Notice of Intended Marriage with the Register General two weeks
prior to wedding.
Bonaire
Waiting Period: Seven days
Documents: Write, at least two months in advance, to the Governor of Bonaire
requesting temporary residency, asking for permission to marry. Two passport photos
of the bride and groom and any witnesses; copies of the first page of passports;
original birth certificates; date of arrival in Bonaire.
British Virgin Islands
Costs: $100 in BVI Postage Stamps if BVI resident for three days; $50 in BVI Postage
Stamps if BVI resident for 15 days or more.
Cayman Islands
Cost: $180
Documents: Cayman Islands international embarkation/disembarkment card for cruise
ship passengers. Passport or birth certificate and photo ID. Letter from authorized
Marriage Officer.
Curacao
Cost: $18 for the marriage certificate and $197 to more than $400 for the wedding
package.
Waiting Period: Three days residency, written registration at least two months prior to
wedding date.
Documents: Applicants must be non-Antillean residents. Passport and birth certificate.
Dominica
Cost: $110 for marriage licence and $184 for legal fees for the statutory declaration of
marital status which must be obtained on the island in a lawyer’s presence.
Waiting Period: Two days
Documents: Birth certificate and proof of citizenship and an application form from the
Ministry of Community Development.

French West Indies
Waiting Period: One person must be a resident for 30 days (residency card is
required).
Documents: Birth certificate (or copy with raised seal). Medical certificate issued within
three months of even; blood tests are required. French translation of English
documents.
Grenada
Cost: $12
Documents: Passports and original birth certificates of both parties. Deed Poll if either
party had a name change. Resorts include legal fees in their wedding packages.
Parental consent is needed if bride or groom are under 21.
Guyana
Cost: under $2
Waiting Period: 15 days for non-residents, 48 hours if one party is a resident.
Documents: Notarized marriage request form. Copies of birth certificates or passports.
Haiti
Documents: Birth certificates of each party. A blood test is required.
Martinique
Waiting Period: Must be in residence at least one month prior to wedding day.
Documents: Birth certificate (or copy with raised seal). Residency card. Medical
certificate (including blood tests) issued within three months of marriage date. Legal
documents translated into French.
Montserrat
Cost: $75 in Montserrat stamps.
Waiting Period: Five working days to obtain Governor’s marriage licence through the
Department of Administration.
Documents: Passports and birth certificates of both parties. Non-marriage certificate.
Nevis
Cost: $80 in stamps. $20 if the couple has been on the island 15 days or more.
Waiting Period: Two days (weekdays) before the wedding.
Documents: Valid passports or birth certificates and state issued photo ID. Couples
marrying for the first time need an affidavit to prove their single status.
Puerto Rico
Cost: $25 for licence stamps.
Waiting Period: Licence has to be acquired from the Puerto Rico Demographic
Department up to 10 days before the wedding.
Documents: Picture identification. Blood test – no older than 10 days be a federal
certified laboratory. Health certificate from a resident practitioner in Puerto Rico.
St. Eustatius
Cots: $20 from a census office, or $58.30 from outside courthouse.
Waiting Period: Two weeks
Documents: Birth certificates. Proof of single status. Resident permit from the
Immigration Department and passport photos.
St. Maarten
Cost: 275 which includes civil ceremony, marriage book, stamps and certificate.
Waiting Period: Fourteen days to register at Office of Civil Registry. Non residents;
special permission must be obtained from the Lt. Governor. Passport, birth certificate.
St. Vincent & The Grenadines
Cost: $20 to $500 depending on the type of licence needed.
Waiting Period: One to seven days, depending on license.
Documents: Valid passport or birth certificate.
Trinidad & Tobago
Cost: $55
Waiting Period: Three days after arrival
Documents: Parties must be non-residents. Passport, tickets.
U.S Virgin Islands
Cots: 25 application fee, $50 for license and $200 fee for ceremonies performed in the
court by a judge.
